40 Years of recruitment excellence.

Celebrating over 40 years of recruitment at IAUK, finding candidates all levels from trainees to Managing Directors the best opportunities in the General Insurance and Loss Adjusting markets.

Independent Appointments (UK) Ltd laid its foundations in Leeds more than 40 years ago and is now widely-recognised as one of the longest established recruitment agencies in existence, which is a fantastic achievement and great testament to the team we have here.  You may have seen our brand go through various transformations throughout our 4 decades of operation from “Inter-Selection” to “Independent Selection” to “Independent Appointments” and finally to “IAUK”.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all personally if we have been fortunate enough to work with you during our company’s lifetime.  If you’re new to IAUK then we welcome the opportunity to tell you a little bit about us …

The company was first established in Leeds in 1976 and moved to our Head office on York Place in 1983, where we still inhabit, recruiting for the General Insurance and Loss Adjusting industries both in the UK and overseas.  We opened our second office in Manchester city centre in 1991 and still remain there.

Our specialist loss adjusting recruitment division, Adjusting Appointments, began trading in 1984 and still widely-recognised as the market-leading agency in this field.

Both offices are city centre based which we feel is very important, as we have always been a major supporter of the insurance communities on both sides of the Pennines e.g. we have been the main sponsor at the Leeds CII Dinner for the last 15 years.  We now enter another New Year in 2017 with the same committed attitude.

 One of our key advantages is that all of our recruitment consultants are trained and experienced in their respective fields and are therefore ideally placed to find both excellent opportunities for candidates at all levels regardless of age, experience, qualifications etc. and best solutions for our clients who naturally face a wide and challenging range of employment issues.  The combined service of the current consultant force is approaching 100 years, which puts us in much stronger place than any of our competitor businesses.  There is no substitute for such experience and no issue that any of our consultants have faced that we have not successfully dealt with. 

Our involvement in the recruitment process is absolutely from end-to-end.  We undertake a detailed search across the relevant market places either to assist in the search for the perfect role for candidates or to locate the perfect candidate for clients.  We advise on the selection process for interview and provide total and effective support through every stage of the recruitment process until such time as we have achieved a successful outcome. 

For candidates we offer a comprehensive support package throughout the interview process and we have numerous documents to provide written help I addition to the verbal debate.  As our consultants have experience in the industry they are better placed to have a genuine understanding of the roles they are recruiting for, what jobs entail and, therefore from a client perspective, which candidates are best suited to fill those roles.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and IAUK demonstrates that there is no substitute for market knowledge and experience.  With over 40 years behind us, you know who you can trust.
