Job Profile

The role will be a 6 month contract and will involve the leadership and control of business change within the insurance industry, with the focus upon compliance, contractual & regulatory projects.  It will require flexibility, an ability to deal with multiple projects and tight deadlines.  An element of 'hands on' work is also required so the jobholder must have strong analytical abilities.  Will directly manage projects within agreed parameters of the company's project management process, cost, timescale and quality to company standards.  May be responsible for a portfolio of projects or a single larger project either standalone or within a major change programme reporting into the programme manager. 

Will facilitate the preparation of plans and budgets for appropriate projects and work with business colleagues to track costs and benefits associated with the project delivery.  Will provide key stakeholder, project and where applicable, programme level reporting on the progress of projects. Will work closely with IT and Business colleagues to ensure that projects are closed in a comprehensive manner and that the handover to live (BAU) operation is smooth and effective.Will manage external parties through requirements definition, contract negotiation and implementation in order to effectively deliver the requirements of projects.  Will lead project teams; including resource from across the company.Effectively managing the expectations of project stakeholders.  Will comply with the company Data Protection Policy, the principles of the Data Protection Act and ensure that Projects are delivered within the requirements of Treating Customers Fairly.

Applicant Requirements

Seeking an experienced project manager with preferably 5 years' experience of delivering a range of change projects.With demonstrable experience of pragmatic adoption of project standards.  A good facilitator, able to engage at all levels.  Able to construct and manage financial plans, budgets and forecasts.  Will hold Third Party Management experience.  Able to communicate effectively in a style appropriate to an audience.  Proven negotiating and influencing skills, the ability to define, re-engineer and review processes.  Understanding of commercial, financial, legislative and regulatory requirements.  Skilled application of the risk management process.

Will preferably have a general understanding of the Insurance and/or Financial Services Industry; processes,products and distribution.  Experience of managing contract, regulatory and compliance projects within theInsurance and/or Financial Services Industry.  A relevant degree or equivalent experience.  Up to date, relevant, project certification.  The ability to communicate complex matters both verbally and written (at all levels).  Ability to handle multiple projects, working effectively both within a team and independently, working with initiative, enthusiasm and flexibility.  Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritise workloads.  Competent in the use of MS office, Visio and Project.  Team work, customer focus and achievement focus.
