Business Development Manager sought to manage and develop Broker relationships and scheme business.
Own and proactively develop commercially successful and productive relationships with Brokers and, where appropriate, other intermediaries.
Acting within company risk appetite: target, win and retain business in core market sectors, delivering profitable growth in line with plan through prospecting, delivering agreed activity levels, driving growth and performance and meeting targets.
Work proactively with colleagues in the technical support functions (particularly Underwriting) to deliver exceptional service to brokers, effective risk selection and profitability of business underwritten.
Promote the brand, values and reputation in its markets and with all customers, suppliers and partners by having a visible and credible market presence in order to enhance achievement of growth and profit targets.
Work with Underwriters to negotiate favourable and acceptable terms on key commercial opportunities in line with risk appetite.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Chartered Insurance Professional - ACII qualification or significant progress towards within agreed time frame.
Strong track record in a commercial insurance sales role within the UK market.
Comfortable with selling.
Highly credible and commercially focussed with a strong reputation for delivery and service.
Proven ability to build productive relationships internally and externally.
Excellent communication, negotiation & presentation skills.
Knowledge of tactical marketing campaigns and ability to identify such opportunities
