Job Profile

Opportunity to join an established team in Manchester as a Professional Indemnity Broker, with a focus on supporting the broking function, managing trading and relationships with insurers, analysing markets, compliance and improving processes.

Main responsibilities will include:

Ensuring all broking activity is carried out compliantly and the broking team works effectively.

Negotiate the most appropriate terms for clients.

Take responsibility for a small portfolio of high profile accounts.

Negotiate the trading aspects of business plans or agreements needed by or with insurers.

Ensure relationships are effective in delivering a high-quality service to clients.

Work with insurers to develop products and facilities.

Market representative, taking the lead as necessary on any major placement problems.

Analyse the insurance markets briefing colleagues as appropriate.

Develop and maintain a culture of continual improvement in the broking process and share best practice ideas.

Promote all compliance related requirements throughout the Broking Team and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Take primary responsibility for ensuring staff awareness and conformances to all compliance related requirements.

Lead by example and develop a working environment where people are motivated.

Applicant Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

A thorough knowledge of commercial insurance market practices and dynamics - ability to analyse competitors and identify new opportunities.

Strong negotiating and influencing skills and effective listener/communicator.

Experience in managing and placing large Professional Indemnity/Financial Lines risks.

Commitment to continuous improvement and to adopting new working practices to raise standards of quality and efficiency.

Technically strong - ACII qualified or studying towards is desirable.
