A new vacancy has arisen for an Account Handler in Oxfordshire.  The role will involve acting as broking assistant to a nominated account executive. Will be responsible for preparing renewal schedules and for contacting clients prior to renewal within FCA timescales. Negotiating quotes and renewal terms - prior to renewal dates - where appropriate. Dealing with all documentation, invoices, credit notes, etc. ensuring a smooth and trouble-free renewal for the client. Handling claims efficiently and within regulatory timescales. Fostering good relations with insurance companies. Ensuring that the company's delegated authority under agency agreements is not exceeded.  Operating an effective credit control system and reporting as required.


Applicant Requirements

Must possess 3 - 5 years broking experience (not insurance company), preferably with experience in either High Net Worth Personal Lines, farm insurance and/or in property and liability insurance.  Knowledge of a wide range of commercial insurance products and companies.  Experienced in obtaining information from clients via telephone & e-mail. Experienced in obtaining quotes and placing business. Good confident customer skills - both written & oral. Good negotiating skills and the ability to build good relationships with both clients and insurers/underwriters. Good organisational ability. A sound knowledge of FCA requirements within a broking role. Well-presented, hard-working, a proactive team player with initiative.  Knowledge of Word/Excel. Experience with the Insight broking software.  The position would suit someone who is satisfied in an office-based role and happy to work within a tight knit team.
