National loss adjusting operation is seeking additional support in South East.  Working as a Major & Complex Loss Adjuster means that you'll be carrying out the adjustment of High Net Worth, Major Loss and other complex claims including escape of oil.  This is a busy role working from a home base covering Scotland ensuring you provide a quality service keeping with service level agreements.  You will maintain your own portfolio of losses with back office support from a central point, keeping policyholders, brokers and insurers regular updates along the journey of the claim.  Losses will vary in value, as you will deal with all High Net Worth losses which could range from £5,000 up to over £100,000 plus any major loss work over £100,000.

Applicant Requirements

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of loss adjusting experience out in the field, be self motivated and work from a home base.  Previous experience of dealing with HNW and or Major Loss would be ideal along with any professional qualifications such as ACILA.  Candidates must be able to work in a fast paced environment and have a flexible approach.

Opportunity exists to work within a well-established loss adjusting operation within their Major and Complex Loss team as a surveyor. Managing the more technical and complex claims you will investigate and provide factual surveying reports to various parties involved in the claim, covering the Midlands regions.

Upon receipt of an instruction, you will investigate and report on the loss that is the subject of an insurance claim for and on behalf of Insurers so they may consider policy coverage, claim acceptance, settlement and/or recovery. As with most claims of a high value or complex nature, this will require site visits to investigate loss circumstances and damage sustained.

Typically, you will work in partnership with Local Authorities, such as building control, solicitors or emergency services in some extremes regarding liability and prospective loss mitigation contractors. You will also be responsible for liaising with repair contactors regarding the scope and the works required and be the main point of contact to ensure assessment and reporting of settlement options and recommendations via the lead adjuster are communicated appropriately.

Applicant Requirements

Candidates will ideally be a qualified Surveyor - MRICS, MCIOB or similar preferably with a background in insurance or building reinstatement of damaged buildings.

Ideally you will also have:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Building construction and Building Regulations
  • Up to date technical knowledge and experience with approved structural repair methods, cost valuation and regulatory requirements
  • Computer literate with MS Office suite and embrace new technologies
  • Willingness to travel to site investigations, with the occasional overnight stay if required

  • Opportunity currently exists for a building professional to join a Specialist Subsidence Team in the North East of England.
  • Working from a home base you will be responsible for a portfolio of subsidence losses for commercial and domestic properties including from High Net Worth, Brokers and Social Housing. 
  • These losses will be dealt with from notification to conclusion dealing with diagnosis, mitigation and repairs.
  • Your time will be split between site visit and desk days to carry out reports and investigations etc. 
  • There may also be some digital remote diagnosis involved.
